On 5/28/08/08 “The Opus”, “The Secret”  Sequel had its opening.
It was my pleasure to attend the world premiere of “The Opus” in Scottsdale AZ and get an inspirational jolt.

Along with the premiere viewing, some of the stars spoke about their personal experiences in creating their personal Opus. As Peggy O’Neil puts it “The Opus is a composer’s greatest work. The Opus is about us becoming the most amazing magnificent extraordinary human beings that we were meant to be”. Each speaker delivered a message that it is possible to live your Opus, as they demonstrated by their personal stories illustrating what extraordinary human beings they have become.

In the tradition of “The Secret”, using the law of attraction to create opportunities to experience more of the life you want to live is still the message behind each speaker’s insight. They take it to the next level by introducing the importance of being in touch with your passion, and acting on it.

Being psychic reader assisting those on their spiritual journey, in the field of personal development  and coaching people on sharpening their life skills  for over 25 years I know that it is the “acting on it” part that loses most people. When you are clear on what you desire, and take those first steps toward it, you are your most vulnerable to disappointment. Moving beyond disappointment and handling challenges is a key part of realizing your Opus.

One of the main points made by this set of inspirational leaders, like Jack Canfield, is making a plan, acting on it, and when you meet with challenges, be flexible. Being flexible and learning to adjust and change your attitude allows you to move beyond your limitations, and bottom line it is the belief in your limitations that have attracted in the challenge. Change what you believe and you change the outcome.

Peggy O’Neil is a “Small Person” (measuring 3 feet 8 inches) with a big presence. She delivered one of the best talks that night, closing with her open invitation for you to call out “yo Peggy” (her website domain name) if you see her out and about. Growing up discovering the difficulties of staying small, she succumbed to “giving up” until a good friend inspired her with an opportunity and told her to “accentuate her uniqueness”. She took it to heart, and it became a life changing moment that started her journey of moving beyond her limitations and living her Opus.

I bumped into Peggy in the Women’s bathroom on a break in between speakers. For a small person this psychic reader  could see her huge aura a mile away (another example of “size doesn’t matter”).

I may be from NY, but it isn’t my nature to be yelling out loud in a public bathroom, but I couldn’t resist the synchronistic encounter and let out a “yo Peggy”. She froze mid small stride, looked at me, and just beamed with a huge smile that lit her aura up.

I complimented her on her talk and expressed my admiration over her triumphs as I watched her approach the sink to wash her hands. But her hands couldn’t reach. Such a thing we take for granted. How many other simple things for you and I are challenging for her, being small in a big world?

She thanked me for the compliments and said how much she loves speaking and how it is part of living her Opus. She joked about having to always be creative as she looked around to see how she could manage leaving the restroom with clean hands. I awkwardly offered to help her but it seemed such a strange thing to do, given her confident demeanor. She reached for a tissue and crumpled it a bit, held it with the tips of her fingers and reached to trigger the motion sensor of the faucet. It worked perfectly and she was good to go.

How funny it was to me that the underlying theme of the event was overcoming limitations by being flexible, and Peggy had just given me a front row seat to living her Opus.

If you like “The Secret” you will like “The Opus”. It follows a similar flow and structure and weaves the story of violinist and his journey to fulfilling his Opus. There are lots of inspirational stories, facts and concepts that will get your wheels turning. “The Opus” is a great compliment to “The Secret” although some how it doesn’t quite pack the same punch. Don’t skip it thinking you have seen and heard it all before. The fresh angle on age old spiritual philosophies is invigorating and well worth it.

You can get your own copy of “The Opus” now on DVD and start to explore your personal pursuit of your own Opus. For those of you who have watched “The Secret” over and over again to keep you inspired, you will like adding this to your repertoire.

Your spiritual journey is an adventure of personal development and mastering life skills, that will create treasures for the soul. May you discover divine insight from a psychic reader, or a unique online reading, and capture valuable wisdom in your spiritual online journal. Hope you enjoyed these words on The Opus movie.
