About the riders

Kristina

Kristina grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN but now lives in Hayward where  her perspective shifted on trail biking. She realized that it was more than spending time in the mud puddles and it was not that ridiculous to ride up grassy hills on the Birkie Trail. Biking has now become her outlet for staying healthy, clearing her mind, and spending quality time with her husband and friends. It is an activity that she can share with my children and watch them enjoy as well. As Kristina said, “the more I race, the more I love the strategy involved and the competition, and how these enable me to expand my boundaries”.

Laurie

Laurie lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two children.  She is a writer and is the co-author of Hot (Sweaty) Mamas: Five Secrets to Life as a Fit Mom (Andrews McMeel 2011), a book for moms who want to find more space in their busy lives for fitness while raising a fit family. She has completed over 50 marathons and ultra-marathons and two Ironman triathlons.  She is an extremely active lady who loves to spend time on her bike--both on and off road.
